MyAccident.org is an online platform that helps victims of car accidents. The platform uses public redacted accident report data that allows to build a simple way for anyone who needs to find their accident reports.
The project started as a local one for Texas, but now MyAccident.org is helping accident victims across the USA.
Services
MyAccident.org is a free service that allows people involved in accidents to access the redacted versions of police accident reports.
The accident reports contain only public data, all private data (participants’names and contacts) is hidden. Nevertheless, the reports are easy to find by anyone who has a legal connection to the accident.
MyAccident is a private (for-profit) organization with a social purpose. Among its sponsors, the platform has insurance organizations, hospitals, emergencies, and car repair shops.
What the platform does:
- it connects numerous databases to create a data collection that is updated on a daily basis. All data is securely stored in the cloud;
- gives access to a free app to identify and access the accident report you’ve been involved;
- provides access to useful resources such as extensive and complete guides that can locate and get hold of original copies of your accident report. The community of users and research team keeps this data up to date.
- connects users with businesses in the lawyers, doctors and hospitals, insurance agents, and collision repair professions.
- Myaccident.org does not belong to any Federal, State, or City Government or any department, bureau, division or agency of any foregoing (collectively the “Government”)
- the platform operates in Texas and California and gradually spreads to other states.
Clients
The number of people who die on the roads in USA equals the number of victims who die as a result of 5 airplane crashes. Annually there are 4 000 000 accidents reported in the USA. MyAccident helps all people to get information about the accident that happened to them on the road. People can find their accident reports and connect to their nearest service provider.
Besides, the company helps communities to raise awareness about car accidents by means of accident stats and maps sharing.
